Justice Alito

I was pleased that Justice Alito was confirmed today, and that he was able to be present in his robes at the State of the Union address. It was kind of cool to see him standing there with Justice Thomas and Chief Justice Roberts.

perhaps my eyes deceived me, but i thought i saw a fourth justice along side them. not enough of a "strict constructionist" to merit a mention?

My post was referring specifically to my pleasure at seeing Justice Alito, and then seeing him with his fellow victims of the left wing smear machine. I don't recall Justice Breyer being attacked by anybody during his confirmation.

oh, so they're VICTIMS now? careful, you're starting to sound like a liberal.

maybe next you'll propose that they be given reparations or some sort of compensation for the horrible injustices that have been inflicted upon them.

Nope. They're behaving the way responsible people do, whether they are victims are not...by overcoming and succeeding.

"overcoming" and "succeeding" apparently includes the right-wing effort to use his wife's crying incident to demonize the opposition and further politicize the situation - even though it was a republican's words that caused her to cry. keep working on it, you guys will master playing the victim card soon enough.

while you continue to complain about the democrats' handling of alito, it's probably also worth noting that there's a post over on Power Line admitting that while Republicans have generally gone "easy" on Democratic nominees, they've gotten tough on the Dems' lower court nominees.
