Sir Arthur C Clarke

This visionary is one of my deadpool picks this year. He is 89 years old, confined to a wheelchair, and lives in a third world country. But somebody up there apparently likes him, not even the Tsunami that hit Sri Lanka ( He has lived there for fifty years) was able to touch him. He predicted satellites nine years before they were invented and that men would walk on the moon in 1945.

He was knighted by the Queen of England (after enduring charges of pedophilia that were disproved) for his work in science and science fiction. He has several awards named after him, and continues to encourage the exploration and exploitation of space.

My heart is glad he is still with us, but my greed says it is time to go.....
