Someone has written a musical based on life in one of North Korea's labor camps, Yoduk Story. One of the choreographers, Kim Yong-soon was sent to a labor camp for gossiping about Kim Jong Il's love life. The play was written by Jeong Song-san, who also has escaped from the North. One of the big songs is All I want is Rice.
You just can't make this stuff up.
