There is a lot of buzz developing around Fred Thompson in the blogosphere. He is raising his profile in the conservative ecosystem with new radio segments and a column in the National Review. At a time in which the probable candidates are so unattractive to the majority of Republicans, (they remind me of the field in 1996 when Sen. Dole ended up being the default candidate) he is becoming more and more attractive. I prefer him to anybody who has entered the race so far. It'll be interesting to see what happens this fall if none of the current candidates have established themselves. Thompson could bring enormous energy to the party.
