On this day in 1970, the album (and yes it was an actual album back then) Black Sabbath was released in the United Kingdom. The album by the band of the same name is widely acclaimed as the first heavy metal album. It is still attracting new fans over forty years later, partly in thanks to games like Guitar Hero. The members of Black Sabbath at this time were: Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward.
